50 First Dates

My husband and I watched 50 First Dates last night and I must say it was too funny and too sweet. I admire the fact that Adam Sandler's character in the movie stopped being so shallow and opened up to a wonderful, albeit unconventional, relationship. I feel that if everyone took a step back and learned who they are, what they want, and what they don't want out of a relationship, there would be more happy people in happy fulfilling relationships. A couple of years ago, I wrote in my journal a list of qualities I was looking for in a man. I knew for sure I would never find a man who would fill all of them, but if he filled most of them I knew he would be the right man for me. The inspiration for my "list" was from watching Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock. In the movie when she was a child, she wrote a similar list/magic spell and wrote qualities she knew would never find in one man, so she would never fall in love and end up hurt. Later in the movie, she ends up meeting him and falling in love. I ended up putting my list away for a few years and only took it out when I met my husband. That's a whole other story, which I'm sure I'll get to once I post my list. I should also put why I wrote the list and all the jerks who led me to it. I'm gonna go dig it out and post it here.
