Need a mental break, BRB

I wish I could go back to St. Lucia!! My husband and I went there on our Wedding/Honeymoon in April and the island is absolutely gorgeous. The people are friendly, the food was great, and we had not a care in the world. The only news on TV was for their national sport of Cricket. If you wanted depressing news, you could turn to a US station via satellite. Beautiful beaches and sunny days, sipping drinks by the ocean. Back to reality...

Living here in the US is stressing me out lately. I think that's why I started this blog, among other reasons. I need to vent and this feels like my only outlet to do so. I am so disappointed in our leaders and lawmakers. We are not children who believe everything our elders tell us, so stop lying to us! I have felt so much angst over how we are handling this war in Iraq. From day one, I felt we were wasting our resources on some personal vendetta. Understandably, Saddam needed to be taken down, but it was Bin Ladin who attacked us. If we were going into a war on terror, go after the one who terrorized us and attacked us first, then go after Saddam. I read yesterday about how there was no link between Iraq and Al-Qaida. This supposed link was spoonfed to us from day one as one of the reasons why we attacked and now there is no proof?! There is also no proof of weapons on mass destruction, umm, destraction. If all the reasons as to why we went to war have been slowly chipped away and made nonsense, what does that say about our leader and our country? Taking down Saddam has had no impact on our safety from terrorist acts because Bin Ladin is still out there!! He's the mastermind behind the attacks and the reason we started this war on terror. Why haven't we caught or killed him yet?

I heard today how Howard Stern is going to be pushing people to vote for Kerry in order to get Bush out of office. I think its good that he's trying to get Bush out of office, but Kerry?? Honestly, I don't see him as any better than Bush. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a liberal, but just a disgruntled democrat who feels our country is on the wrong track.
